xhanako asked: I love your work!! Do you sell prints?
gosh thank you so much!!! :’>
at the moment i don’t have an official stop online (i’m workin on that bigcartel, i promise!!), but if you’re interested in a particular piece, feel free to email me or leave me another ask message!
i’ll let you know if it’s something i can make a print of, as well as the size, the paper it’ll be printed on, and the price! :D
EHEHEHE YEP! :Dkelly i cant believe you still have your vizard-you drawing as your icon ITS BEEN THE SAME SINCE JUNE OF 2008

Anonymous asked: how would you feel if someone got your drawings tattooed on them?
ohgosh i think that would be reallyreally neat?? i’d be really honoured if someone wanted a drawing of mine tattooed on them! idk the thought of having something i made permanently on someone is really exciting and surreal to me.
if you’re interested, i’d love it if you pm me or email me! let’s talk! :D
wolfbat-tahno asked: I was going to volunteer to keep you in check but we always end up talking about BIg BanG or various anime/manga :X SORRY KELLY I'M THE WORST
no but top-hyun and shoujo talks are what keep me alive. THEY KEEP ME ALIVE, KRISTINA. DON’T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME. you might as well kill me :c

✌ someone thinks i’m funny U\\\U)
yes absolutely! i guess i’m still trying to figure out how i want my work to be seen and how i see work too. so many thoughts i’m trying to organize and they kind of conflict with each other.oh lawd*: mm still on the fence about people removing artist comments idk….
mm still on the fence about people removing artist comments idk. there’s a certain way i want my work to be read and a specific context for it but then at the same time everyone interprets things in their own way anyways SO IDK i just wish everyone knew my intent behind every piece all the time…
Sometimes you just gotta let the work speak for itself. There will always be a disconnection between the art and the words, so you just do your best to convey what you mean through the piece and let the viewer do the rest. Just my 2 cents.
i think a work should be able to speak for itself (and it’s really great when it does!), and work as a standalone thing? even if the viewer doesn’t understand or know the concept behind it, a lot of the times it’s nice to just see a piece and like it because it looks awesome! and i like it when someone is able to reinterpret the work in a way that makes it personal/memorable to themselves. or when they ‘fill in the blanks’ and the work becomes kind of an interactive/participatory thing, if that makes sense! but sometimes i want a specific drawing/painting/etc to work hand in hand with text/words/a title, because i think it gives a different depth to the work or a completely different way of viewing it that wouldn’t have been seen without the text. and sometimes it’ll turn the concept completely on its head if the text is clever enough? haha trying to organize my feelings through wordvomit.
thanks for your thoughts! c:
inechi asked: hi! what do you use tracing paper for? also you can "do" a lightbox by drawing over a window (at day, of course). you should experiment with different papers, i am thinking of two papers that dont behave like you say and are good for tracing ( that are also very cheap) but i dont know their names in english... i googled and apparently one is called vellum but im not 100% sure if it is what i was thinking about
i mostly use tracing paper to transfer my drawings onto other surfaces, or to roughly compose an image from different parts? but sometimes i like to be able to use it for finished drawings as well.
i used to try drawing over a window, but i took so long my arms couldn’t handle it.. ahaha too weak!! i’ve tried vellum before! maybe the other one is mylar? it’s frosty and has a bit of tooth to it! i’ve used vellum once or twice before and i think it does work better than tracing paper (more sturdy? and it erases!!), but i have the problem where it still curls and crinkles. maybe i am just a sweatmonster I WOULDN’T BE SURPRISED haha~ :’D
it says there’s different kinds of vellum available at the art store i go to, so maybe i’m just not buying the right one! now that i’m done my pad of tracing paper i’ll look into some other papers!
thank you so much for your help!! ♥_____♥
saarsattack asked: hey! i've been using borden and riley sun glo thumbnail paper. it's for architectural drafting, you can use pencil and marker and pen and it won't smudge and layer the paper up to like four sheets and still see through >w< you can get a big roll for about ~10 usd at the cheapest, and i think it comes in a couple different colors. i was in a set design class last semester and discovered it and it's a godsend for all my artworks *O*!!
oh! i’ve never tried that before! i mostly use tracing paper for transferring my drawings so i never bothered to look at drafting paper before! i’m gonna keep an eye out for borden and riley! thanks so much!! O:
the smudging and crinkling is the worst with tracing paper, if i have my hand on it too long the edges start curling and it becomes too difficult to handle =____=;;
ohman set design sounds really awesome!!! what were your projects like?
ahhh i love it when you discover treasures like that in class that can be useful for everything else outside of class too U w U

THANK YOU YOU ARE WONDERFUL AND AMAZING AND HOW ARE YOU EVEN REAL AND THANK YOU AGAIN YOU GIVE ME THE COURAGE OF ONE TEN MILLION! ONE TEN MILLION!!!
i feel awful for not replying because i am shit with words (i say THANK YOU and YOU ARE AWESOME and ;_____;face over and over again and i mean it YOU ARE AND YES THANK YOU AND ;__________;!!!) and end up using the same words/expressions forever when in reality i have ALL THESE FEELINGS THAT I DON’T KNOW HOW TO VERBALIZE so i just kind of.. don’t. and instead i keep these messages in my inbox (because tumblr also gets rid of them once you answer them?? gross) and reread them all the time especially when i feel like OHGODEVERYTHING’SWRONG and.. idk. i guess it sounds silly to say because it’s .~*`the innernet`*~. but your words really do punch me very sweetly in the heart and i remember them and they do mean a lot and it makes me smile when i think about them and
i hope i haven’t offended any of you from my lack of replies. i keep meaning to but i feel like my reply can’t really do any justice to the way your messages made me feel? does that make sense?
i’m trying to build up the guts to reply to all of you properly AND I WILL so i guess
this is just the explanation in case you get a message from me half a year later saying thank you and wondering what the hell i am thanking you for,
i am probably thanking you for being just about the most kickasswonderfulpeople i have ever encountered ever.

Anonymous asked: do you sell prints? i wasn't sure if you did or didn't and I looked 3 times on your main site, but I couldn't find any info about it? I would really like to purchase some of your artz!
ohgosh! thanks so much for your interest!! \\* 8 *\\)
i haven’t sold prints yet, but i’d really love to! i’ve been meaning to set up an etsy or bigcartel (does anyone have any thoughts/opinions about either?).
i’m also still trying to figure out what paper will work best (i really love stonehenge but it’s a little more expensive to buy/print and i’m not really sure how long those prints will last..). or do people usually just prefer cardstock matte/glossy? O:
if there’s a specific piece you want a print of, message or email me and we can figure it ouuuuttt! :>
wowowowowowoowowowow thanks for such a nice compliment!!! :’> to be honest my knowledge of comics and stuff is still really little. most of what i read is what’s been recommended to me by other people!
manga and comics!
i am forever biased but anything by Taiyo Matsumoto is my favourite, especially Tekkonkinkreet, Ping Pong, Gogo! Monster, No. 5, Aoi Haru, and Sunny! (aoisdfj i pretty much listed most of it already but.. you get my point right? haha)
anything by Inio Asano too! (What a Wonderful World! and Oyasumi Punpun are my favourites so far, there’s also A Girl by the Sea which is still being translated! NSFW though.)
Baka & Gogh
Dorohedoro
Stone Ocean, Jojolion, Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan - Mutsukabezaka (i haven’t read the whole Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure series but it’s probably amazing. awesome character and stand names/designs like Anasui, Soft&Wet, Weather Report, Bohemian Rhapsody, Burning Down the House, you get the idea haha.)
Yankee-kun to Megane-chan!!!!!!
ROOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Revolutionist in the Afternoon
AKIRA / Domu: A Child’s Dream
One Piece
Kakisen
Toyoda Tetsuya (i’ve only read Goggle and Undercurrent, but it’s beautiful storytelling+beautiful art)
Yotsuba&!
Real
WORST / Crows
Dragon Ball / Dr. Slump
Gokinjo Monogatari / Mushishi
Spera because it has tons of nice art by artists i love
Buzzer Beater
Minus
Octopus Pie
NAWLZ / HOTEL (interactive comics)
Sloane also recommended this site to me a little while ago! it has a lot of nice ones~
All the Paul Pope stuff (Batman: Year 100, Heavy Liquid, 100%, The Berlin Batman), all the Moebius stuff (Arzach, 40 Days Dans le Desert B), all the Mike Mignolas, Kylooe by Little Thunder, Garage Band and Notes for a War Story by Gipi!
that’s all i can find in my bookmarks right now but there you have it!! as for other cool stuff, i’m not really sure. ; ___ ; i kind of just.. sit at my desk a lot.
BUT if you have an iPhone/Pad/touch Sword and Sworcery is really cool, as is the soundtrack by Jim Guthrie, Sloane’s new art/wrinting forum A Fever Dream, and also (i wouldn’t categorize it as ‘cool’ but it’s worth checking out and just incredibly honest and fantastic) one of my favourite blogs at the moment thanks to kougogo, Talking Barnacles by Patrick Tsai.
if you have some comics/manga/things you’d recommend, please tell me too!
Anonymous asked: do you enjoy cooking? what are your favorite recipes and things?
i am tons better at eating than i am at cooking but!!!
i do like cooking YES! i just.. haven’t done much of it. i am p much the queen of instant things though.
if i cook it’s always with someone else! haha it’s always such an event… favourite recipe so far is blueberry pudding cake because it is a) the first thing i ever learned how to make b) actually doable for me c) pretty delicious. um other favourite recipe is COOKING WITHOUT A RECIPE just toss your favourite flavours and things together. if you don’t have to cook it, even better!! (ie all the salads)
my secret is:
if you’re not sure how this will taste, add cheese. or sriracha. you can’t go wrong with either.
i think also if you add avocado, red onions, or garlic to something it is automatically tasty.
